Jon Bratten of Center Self Ceramics, an up-and-coming Pittsburgh ceramicist, hand-throws stoneware clay to create elegant home goods. With a background in mechanical engineer, he enjoys combining the artistic and technical aspects of his life into his craft, leading to attractive yet functional pieces. His recent work has focused on the natural beauty and texture of clay, which are reflected in the speckled and dark stoneware’s and simple glazes. Each piece is microwave and dishwasher safe.
