"As a letterpress artist, I use handset metal and wood type, as well as carved plywood blocks and found textures, to create colorful, sustainable, and modern printed products."
Gingerly Press publishes a line of dynamic printed matter – art prints, bound journals, greeting cards, advocacy posters, and other ephemera – employing a classic, handset letterpress process of printing, as well as hand-mixed, sustainable inks and 100% recycled paper. Founder Lindsay Schmittle exclusively uses a collection of antique metal and wood type, and creates paper products that embody colorful modern design and draw inspiration from adventures in the outdoors, a desire for positive social changes, and the quest for mindfulness and connection. With a range of workshops, classes, social events, Gingerly Press and its studio in Lawrenceville also act as a new community hub for print and letterpress artists and enthusiasts.
